CAREER DAY 2012

This year's career day promises to be fantastic. The pupils are sharing the importance of their chosen career to National Development.

Grandparents- Ejiro P6

Grandparents are your parents’ parents. They come to your house to spend Christmas or other celebrations or you can visit them in the village. They can buy you everything you need, that’s why they are fantastic. I love my grandparents because they are so kind, they make you feel happy when you are sad, and they will take you out and buy things for you. They always stand up for you when you are in trouble and speak for you. They make delicious meal when you are hungry. Grandparents are important because they make you all the time.

Grandparents- Joy P5

Grandparents are old people who are our mother’s or father’s parents. Grandparents are important because they are always there to help you. My grandfather passed away years ago, my grandmother visited us this year in the month of June and went back last week Saturday. My grandmother did me a favour by staying alive. She was very sick because she had diabetes. When she came to Abuja for treatment, I went to visit her in the hospital and met her between life and death. I ask her to do me a favour by staying alive and she did. She is prayerful, serve and God.

Grandparents -Chisom P4B

When your parents are not around they take care of you, when you are sad they make you happy. Grandparents love their Grandchildren like a treasure. They promise to and do help the family no matter what. When you lose your job they will help you get new one and if they can’t get new one for you, they will help you to feed the family.  If your Grandparents are still alive you are lucky. Grandparents are important because if you have them you have everything. Grandparents tell stories, give ideas and advice, hardworking, help you and sometimes give money. I love my Grandparents

Grandparents -Miracle P4B

Grandparents are important because they are the ones that gave birth to our parents. Grandparents are older then everybody in the house. They taught us how to do good works and to live in peace and harmony. They are good leaders. Grandparents always believe we can be the best even when we are not doing well at the moment. My Grandmother lives in the United States of America. It’s a pity I don’t see her everyday but my cousin Brandon does. I remember the day my Grandmother made chicken pepper soup and gave me the largest portion of meat and everyone became jealous of me. This is simply because I am her Grandson. I love my Grandmother very much.

Grandparents- Promise J P4B

I love my Grandparents because they buy things for me. When I’m crying they pet me. They work hard and they always tell me nice stories. They are very old. But most of all I think Grandparents are important because when I’m sad they make me happy.

Grandparents are important by Adedayo P 4A

Grandparents are important because… Grandparents are important because they are the ones who gave birth to my parents. They are always there to guide and advice me and my parents on things to do. They keep us company when our parents travel and buy us things when we need them, that is why they made a poem about Grandparents. The poem goes “Grandparents are groovy; they take you to the movies They buy special treats and make you feel unique And when you are unhappy or feeling kind of blue they land you a warm shoulder and say they love you”. You see why Grandparents are important.

Bad weather by Chisom P4A

Nigeria is experiencing Flooding this year because of bad weather. Floods have exploded people’s emotion washing away farm lands and all tiny household items and families are displaced. All green land is covered with water. No crops left untouched, framers and everybody in Nigeria are left with sorrow. I feel very sorry for my fellow Nigerians; we are experiencing all these because of bad weather. Bad weather can make a rich country poor. Nigeria will not allow bad weather to destroy her economy; we must take caution to avoid the effect of bad weather next year.

He would tell us what to do like the first time we started doing factors, I did not know it, I told my teacher he explained and explained I didn't still understand. I was felling like crying but now I know fractions. It is like multiplication table. If they say find the factor of 5= 5 and 1. The end of my story is no school can be like Bankys.

In Nursery Two, Mrs. Adetunji taught me how to read. When I was in Primary 1(one) Miss Ugah taught me. She always had six kind words which are, 'it is for your own good' and now I am still following that even though I am in Primary 4(four).

1st Inter-House Sports Meet

Our Inter-House Sports Competition was great. The most wonderful aspects include the manner in which the children took part in the races (relay especially). It was as though they're representing Nigeria in Olympics. Another amazing aspect is the support given by parents in making the programme succeed; the full participation of some even in parents'races as well as helping to package food. Thank you all Great Parents. We love you!
Kudos to our Old Pupils who came en mass and gave their total support in organising things. Oh it was fantastic! We deeply appreciate you all.
TO GOD THE GREAT I AM BE ALL THE GLORY FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS!

Glued bones by Heritage, Faithfulness and Elosola

Faith's pet lizard died while he was away and that made him have interest in bones. He decided to hunt for dead animals bones. He told his friends about it, so they brought animal bones to him. He got so many bones and pondered on what to use it for. One day, he had an idea so he started using strong glue to glue the parts together and later succeeded. It's now a very popular art that's making impact in the world.

Dinosaur bones by Abigail P4

Her name is Aisly. She warned her children sternly saying I can see into the future.  I can see your bones in the museum. Be warned, the times are changing, I am going to meet God in heaven as she said that she yielded up the ghost a week later her two twin daughters (that makes four) buried her.
They did not have money to buy flowers and they decided to call the family members but, the had no money to buy credit to call the family and they had no money to eat so they died. An archeologist saw their bones lying on the floor so they quickly took it with them to the stadium.

Bones by Aniekan MSSM

Bones are got from dead animals. Without bones in an animal, that animal would not walk on his hinds and limbs.
Bones enlarge from time to time.
Animal bones, such as bones of animals that are extinct are kept in the museum. Good examples are the dinosaur and the panda.
Bones are still being discovered till today in different locations.
Without bones in our body, we are like match sticks that are tossed up and down!

The sphere of bones by Thyto P5

Two Million years ago when people still believed in gods. The gods made a rule that  if a male  baby is born a rib is brought out of the left hand side of the baby’s body as a sacrifice to the gods, and if a female baby is born a rib is brought out from the right hand side as a sacrifice to the gods. Many years past and the people got tired of the rule of the gods and made a plan that their baby’s did not have to feel pain when they are born.  The bravest of them all said that if a baby is born the rib of a lamb is brought as a sacrifice to the gods.
Two million years past, scientists discovered the ribs of animals and babies, put it together to form a sphere of bones in a museum.

The Magic Bone by Kelly P3B

One day, Akin saw a bone on the floor, picked it up and took it home. He asked his mother if he could feed his dog with it. She said “yes”, so he went outside to feed his dog with the bone.  At that moment the bone came alive, he was surprised that it is alive and it started to run away, he chased it. Then he was in a forest. He saw lots of bones lying on the ground, he got scared. Then the bones started to come together till they became a pile of bones. All of a sudden he woke up and it was a dream.

Breaktime in my school by Michael O P1A

It is always a very exciting period that comes after the first three lessons.

We play different kinds of games like skipping and swinging.

Some children are also seen running and jumping in the playground, playing football and handball.

The teachers usually guide us as we play, to make sure we are not hurt.

When the break-over bell goes all the pupils stop playing and go back to their classes.Break time in my school

OH DEAR! I FORGOT IT WAS LEAP YEAR
Tori Vega always forget things easily. She would forget to feed her dog, forget lunch, forget it was Saturday and wasn't meant to go to school, so you can guess she was a bit of nuisance. One day, her friend, Angela visited her and told her that her tenth birthday was coming up on the 29th of February and that she was having a party. She also told her that Tori was to be the guest, she also warned Tori not to forget her birthday, Tori promised not to forget her birthday.
She woke up forgetting it was Angela's birthday, though she wondered why people were making noise and exploding fireworks around 4pm in the evening. Angela came knocking at her door with tears in her eyes. Angela asked her for the reason of her absence during her party, Tori gave a long shriek saying “oh dear! I forgot it was leap year”. Tori lost a good and kind friend like Angela and missed the parade that they always had on leap years. After this incident Tori learnt to keep records and not forget.Toluwani P4 (Bankys Schl, Nig.)

It wasn't my fault by Mineh Ovadje P4

“It Wasn’t My Fault”

Here was I,
Where I was,
In the punishment room,
They beat me with a broom,
At last, that I see
What it is all about?
They were going to set me free,
But I didn’t care.

At that stage,
I was in a cage,
Then I said,
I said, it wasn’t my fault,
But I was not remorse.

I was very angry,
I cried sadly,
It wasn’t my fault, I cried
It wasn’t my fault why it was broken,
I was sulky for a while
Then in shouted aloud, it wasn’t my fault
They released me
Because, I was right

Once again, ths is an attempt to post Joy's piece on the prompt; 'the ground slowly parted'. I hope it shows well this time. I had to type myself this time. There was a boy named Adeze, he was rude and disobedient to his elders. He lived with his mother in a small cottage. One day Adeze went to the farm with his friends without his mother's knowledge. His mother looked for him around. Then he came back in the night and slept. The next day the mother asked him o go to the arm to get fresh yam. IN his way there he met an old woman carrying a bunch of firewood on her head. The old woman said, "my sin, please help me to carry this firewood to my house. It's not that far from here". He answered her rudely and left without helping her. On getting to the farm, he as about to cut the yam, a strong wind blew then the ground parted slowly. The old woman appeared and drew him out of the ground and the woman said, "do good to others and others will do good to you. Then he went home to his mother and told her what happened and promised that he would be obedient to his mom and kind to his elders. By Joy Okoro

The Giant Bee by Thyto(Bankys PS, Abuja, Nig

Mating season was over so all the bees gathered their eggs to move to a new hive. A mother bee gathered her eggs all on her back. When she was moving, one of her eggs fell from her back. She couldn't notice because of her buzzing. The egg fell right into a factory and into Nitro Oxide, a highly dangerous chemical. Luckily, the scientist saw the egg and quickly brought it out and disposed it immediately. After a week, the egg began to hatch into a huge bee and it teleported to another dimension. Wow! It was really huge.

But because he was small, Peter could not hear what he was saying so he was sad. He went to a honeycomb and ate bowls of honey so that he grew as big as Peter. Then Peter could hear what he was saying and they became friends and lived happily ever after.100wc.net

The Four Pigs by Abigail

Once upon a time, there lived four pigs called Holly, Polly, Dolly and Molly. They were all naughty pigs since birth. One day, they entered a boat and started talking of where to go when they reached California. They began to fight. Holly said the beach, Polly said a theater, Dolly said a park and finally Molly said she'll go shopping. They all began to fight. Some friends tried to stop them, among whom are Woofy, Fiona and Marty; Mary and Marly and Sholly their elder sister were also there. They struggled to separate them, and all at once they fell over.

Twin puppies

Two of my neighbors got gifts of puppies from another neighbor that the dog had many puppies. One of them could not find her puppy and saw a neighbor with a puppy that looks exactly like hers and she and the other neighbor started to argue. An old man came and asked them, "do you have a receipt?" The puppies were not bought so there was no receipt but they both described exactly same kind of puppy. Then the old man said, "they must be identical twins then". What a way of knowing the right owner of identical puppies?
