Breaktime in my school by Michael O P1A

It is always a very exciting period that comes after the first three lessons.

We play different kinds of games like skipping and swinging.

Some children are also seen running and jumping in the playground, playing football and handball.

The teachers usually guide us as we play, to make sure we are not hurt.

When the break-over bell goes all the pupils stop playing and go back to their classes.Break time in my school

They all tried but none got it right. The teacher gave a hint that it has something to do with 29th February. There was a boy called Emeka in Ofueke village in Enugu State. He was a naughty boy as a result of his mother’s pampering. He is the only child of the mother; his father doesn’t support the mother’s pampering. He doesn’t like going to school.
He is a problem in the school; he doesn’t pay attention in the class. He visited the Auntie’s house and broke a glass cup. He shows remorse for breaking the cup. The Auntie forgives him for the breakup, because it wasn’t his fault. Later the Auntie asks him to stay with her for some time. The Auntie teach him lesson in Mathematics and English.

There lived a girl named Princess Gideon; she had two brothers and three friends named Tonia, Bobby and Tanya. Every holiday Princess would visit each of them in each week. They lived in the same estate. On one holiday, there teacher took them to the park. “It was fun going to the park” said Tonia. While others were playing football, Princess and Bobby were playing paper boat race. Bobby mistakenly shoots a stone to Princess’s boat and princess’s boat sank. Princess became angry and Bobby replied “it wasn’t my fault”, it was a mistake. Princess forgave him and they prayed and left.

OH DEAR! I FORGOT IT WAS LEAP YEAR
Tori Vega always forget things easily. She would forget to feed her dog, forget lunch, forget it was Saturday and wasn't meant to go to school, so you can guess she was a bit of nuisance. One day, her friend, Angela visited her and told her that her tenth birthday was coming up on the 29th of February and that she was having a party. She also told her that Tori was to be the guest, she also warned Tori not to forget her birthday, Tori promised not to forget her birthday.
She woke up forgetting it was Angela's birthday, though she wondered why people were making noise and exploding fireworks around 4pm in the evening. Angela came knocking at her door with tears in her eyes. Angela asked her for the reason of her absence during her party, Tori gave a long shriek saying “oh dear! I forgot it was leap year”. Tori lost a good and kind friend like Angela and missed the parade that they always had on leap years. After this incident Tori learnt to keep records and not forget.Toluwani P4 (Bankys Schl, Nig.)

Leap Year Promise P3B

Oh Dear! I forgot it was Leap Year
I woke up early in the morning not knowing it was a leap year. I went to school and I wrote the date as 1st of March, 2012. My friend Divine told me, “Promise, don’t you know this is a leap year, and this February has 29 days?” I said to myself, oh dear! I forgot it was a leap year!

It wasn't my fault by Mineh Ovadje P4

“It Wasn’t My Fault”

Here was I,
Where I was,
In the punishment room,
They beat me with a broom,
At last, that I see
What it is all about?
They were going to set me free,
But I didn’t care.

At that stage,
I was in a cage,
Then I said,
I said, it wasn’t my fault,
But I was not remorse.

I was very angry,
I cried sadly,
It wasn’t my fault, I cried
It wasn’t my fault why it was broken,
I was sulky for a while
Then in shouted aloud, it wasn’t my fault
They released me
Because, I was right

Once again, ths is an attempt to post Joy's piece on the prompt; 'the ground slowly parted'. I hope it shows well this time. I had to type myself this time. There was a boy named Adeze, he was rude and disobedient to his elders. He lived with his mother in a small cottage. One day Adeze went to the farm with his friends without his mother's knowledge. His mother looked for him around. Then he came back in the night and slept. The next day the mother asked him o go to the arm to get fresh yam. IN his way there he met an old woman carrying a bunch of firewood on her head. The old woman said, "my sin, please help me to carry this firewood to my house. It's not that far from here". He answered her rudely and left without helping her. On getting to the farm, he as about to cut the yam, a strong wind blew then the ground parted slowly. The old woman appeared and drew him out of the ground and the woman said, "do good to others and others will do good to you. Then he went home to his mother and told her what happened and promised that he would be obedient to his mom and kind to his elders. By Joy Okoro

First 5SC

I got this from 100WC.net so that you can have clear idea of what to do Welcome everyone to the latest addition to the Word Challenges! This is a challenge for those who may struggle with getting 100 words written. It may well suit our younger writers say in Key Stage 1 .It may also appeal to older writers who find the whole exercise of getting words into print very daunting.  If they can write 100 words then please direct them to that challenge but if they would feel happier with fewer words – read on!! The rules are:- Children write 5 complete sentences. That means full stops and capital letters. They can be any length but must be correct sentences These are posted on your class blog (if you do not have a class blog but would like to take part please leave a message in the comments)  The URL of the post should be linked below together with the writer’s christian name, year group and school Children should be encouraged to go and read some of the other entries. That is how we get our ideas! Entries can be from individuals. pairs, small groups or even classes. The link will be open for TWO weeks (until 15th February)
